Xiaomi Inc. which headquartered in China is ready to compete with larger main rivals in smartphone industry as it launched its 5.7 inches Full HD 1920p with 386ppi display named Mi Note earlier this year. The Mi Note which shared its name with Samsung’s Galaxy Note series is quite identical to the iPhone 6 Plus but has been made lighter, thinner, shorter and feature a larger screen. In addition, the high-end Mi Note which is actually a phablet (a mixture of phone and tablet) comes with trim design, powerful camera and hardware that sold at an affordable price in two variants; the 16GB and 64GB model. However, the phone did not have the LTE network required in United States.

However, do note that the Mi Note doesn’t offer micro-SD card slot for further expansion. Nonetheless, it does provide users with a dual- nano and micro SIM card tray slot.

Although the phone does not support 4G LTE network in the US, it 3G may capable of doing that alongside other networks including the Three and EE networks in UK, and the Optus in Australia. The MIUI 6 is an Android and iOS hybrid that enables any users to quickly collect the apps and move the apps to a new screen easily. There is several choice of screen size that can be picked by the users from 3.5, 4 to 4.5 inches. Regarding the user interface, the MIUI 6 could also help users to change how their phone screen looks.



The 13MP Sony camera lens of the Mi Note is flush with the chassis and does not stick out while various services accompany with the camera such as Auto HDR and HDR would help to take a good quality pictures under numerous situations including bright and dark areas. The Mi Note’s camera also offer twilight mode for night shots.


In general, the Snapdragon 801 processor is a good processor and seems pretty close when compare with a different processor on other devices. Another advantage of the Mi Note that users should grab is on the call and audio quality. Its speakers are loud and it comes with an ESS ES9018K2M stereo DAC (digital-to-analog converter) audio chip while the calls are crisp and clear.


To put it briefly, the Mi Note is a great phablet in term of design, performance and features that able to compete with bigger phablets makers such as Samsung and Apple. It also offers many phablet users to enjoy the premium hardware with a very robust software experience at an affordable price. As well, the phone is good for entertainment as it has a good processor with a good quality of screen display.
